Alison Ochoa is a Biology major student at Trinity Washington University with a passion for service, education, and making a positive impact in the community. She is actively involved in volunteer programs throughout Washington, D.C., including community service opportunities with organizations such as MOLA Office Washington, DC and The Salvation Army.

Dedicated to both academic excellence and helping others, Alison graduated with honors from high school and continues to achieve academic success as a member of the Dean’s List at Trinity Washington University. Through her studies, volunteer work, and leadership, she is committed to creating opportunities, supporting others, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and communities.

Nermin Redi is a talented Biology major student at Trinity Washington University with a strong passion for science, mathematics, and helping others. Recognized for her academic excellence and problem-solving abilities, she continues to challenge herself through the university’s Honors Program, where she develops her leadership, critical thinking, and commitment to academic achievement.

With a strong interest in the sciences and a dedication to making a positive impact, Nermin combines her skills in biology and mathematics to pursue her goals and inspire others. Her commitment to learning, excellence, and service reflects the values of YOU ARE NOT ALONE and its mission to create opportunities for children and communities through education.

Ismael Alexander De Leon Ayala is an Information Technology student with a strong foundation in leadership, service, and teamwork. Through his experience in the U.S. Army, he developed strong values of responsibility, perseverance, and dedication while gaining skills that continue to guide his professional growth. Today, he continues expanding his knowledge in technology while using his skills to support and inspire his community.

Ismael is also an important part of YANA’s journey, being one of the first people to believe in the organization’s vision and support its creation. His commitment to service and helping others reflects the values that drive YANA’s mission of empowering children through education and opportunity.

Volunteer Ambassador

Jaasiel Chavez-Gutierrez is a dedicated community leader and advocate for youth empowerment, education, and service. He is a Trinity Washington University alumnus and has been recognized as a Posse Scholar, HSF Scholar, and Georgetown University SFS Future Global Leaders Fellow. Through his commitment to leadership and community engagement, Jaasiel has gained experience supporting young people and creating opportunities for others.

As an intern with Latin American Youth Center (LAYC) and an AmeriCorps member, Jaasiel continues to serve his community through meaningful programs that promote growth, education, and empowerment. He is also an incoming student at Sewanee: The University of the South, where he will continue developing his skills as a future leader.
